ABOUT OUR FARM
Where is Imatech Nut Trees located?
Our walnut farm is located in the Shepparton region of Victoria, an established agricultural area known for its productive soils and reliable growing conditions.
Is Imatech Nut Trees an Australian farm?
Yes. Our walnuts are grown, harvested, and packed in Australia
Do you grow the walnuts yourselves?
Yes. We grow our walnuts on our own farm, managing the orchard and harvest directly to maintain quality and traceability.
WALNUT TREE VARIETIES
What types of walnut trees do you grow?
We grow Chandler and Tulare walnut trees — two well-regarded commercial varieties known for kernel quality, flavour, and consistency.
What is the difference between Chandler and Tulare walnuts?
· Chandler walnuts are known for lighter kernels, clean flavour, and strong market demand.
· Tulare walnuts are valued for their size, robust shells, and reliable yields.
Growing both varieties allows us to balance quality, resilience, and seasonal performance.
Why did you choose these varieties?
Chandler and Tulare trees are well suited to our region and align with our focus on producing premium-grade walnuts rather than maximising volume alone.
GROWING & HARVESTING
How are your walnuts grown?
Our walnuts are grown using responsible and sustainable orchard practices, with long-term soil health and tree performance as priorities.
When are walnuts harvested?
Walnuts are harvested seasonally once they reach maturity. Harvest timing is critical to kernel quality and storage performance.
Do you process the walnuts on the farm?
After harvest, walnuts are sent off-farm for professional drying. Once dried, they are returned to the farm for bagging and sale.
PRODUCT FORMAT & QUALITY
Do you sell walnuts in-shell?
Yes. We supply in-shell walnuts, which naturally protect the kernel and help preserve freshness until cracking.
Why do you sell walnuts in-shell
In-shell walnuts:
· Store better over time
· Are protected from air and light
· Reflect the walnut in its most natural form
They are also preferred by many customers seeking maximum freshness.
Are your walnuts roasted or flavoured?
No. Our walnuts are supplied raw and unprocessed, with no roasting, flavouring, or additives.
HEALTH & NUTRITION
Are walnuts good for you?
Walnuts are nutrient-dense and naturally contain healthy fats, fibre, plant protein, antioxidants, and essential micronutrients.
Do walnuts contain omega-3?

Can walnuts be eaten daily?
Walnuts can be enjoyed regularly as part of a balanced diet. A small handful is a common everyday serving.

Do walnuts need refrigeration?
In-shell walnuts do not require refrigeration if stored correctly. Once cracked, kernels should be sealed and kept cool.
