OUR WALNUT VARIETIES
Selecting the right walnut variety is critical to quality, handling, and end-use performance. Our orchard focuses on proven Australian walnut varieties chosen for kernel quality, shell integrity, and suitability for commercial supply chains. Each variety is grown under conditions designed to support consistent maturation and reliable downstream handling.
With over 22,000 trees planted since 2017 we focus on the two globally respected premium walnut varieties, the Chandler and the Tulare trees. We have chosen these for their eating quality and suitability for the Australian market.
CHANDLER WALNUTS
PREMIUM LIGHT KERNEL WALNUTS
We grow Chandler walnuts as our flagship premium variety. Internationally recognised for their quality, Chandler walnuts are highly sought after for their appearance and flavour.
Chandler trees produce large, smooth shelled walnuts with an excellent natural seal. The shell is relatively thin, allowing easier cracking while still protecting the kernel during drying, storage, and transport.
Inside, Chandler walnuts are known for their exceptionally light coloured kernels, often releasing cleanly in large, intact halves. The flavour is mild, sweet, and buttery, with a refined texture that suits premium snacking, baking, and high end culinary applications.
Because of their high kernel to shell ratio, visual consistency, and dependable eating quality, Chandler walnuts are widely regarded as a benchmark for premium Australian walnuts.
TULARE WALNUTS
CLASSIC AUSTRALIAN WALNUTS
We also grow Tulare walnuts, a variety valued for its consistency, orchard reliability, and broad culinary versatility.
Tulare trees perform strongly and contribute dependable yields, supporting long term supply stability.
Tulare walnuts are typically large and well formed, with a robust shell and a generous kernel size. The kernel delivers a clean, classic walnut flavour, mild, balanced, and well suited to roasting, baking, and processing.
Kernel colour ranges from light to medium and performs reliably across varying seasonal conditions.
Whilst the Chandler Walnuts is often favoured for ultra premium visual presentation, Tulare walnuts are trusted for their practicality, consistency, and versatility in wholesale and value added applications.
